
Local Organising Committee

Chair: Imrana Ghumra
An active member of CILIP’s Health Libraries Group Committee since 2009 and Co-Chair from October 2015 to December 2022, having recently taken up the post of HLG Conference Lead. Head of Knowledge Services at University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire NHS Trust; previously worked for the Schools Library Service, Health Education England, the Royal Society of Medicine and the Civil Service but the majority of career has been in Health Libraries. Imrana has an interest in utilising technology and social media for access to evidence based health information; getting best value for money on all products and services as well as marketing, coaching and leadership. Imrana will also be part of the International Congress Planning Committee (ICPC)

Hong-Anh Nguyen
Hong-Anh is the Library Service Manager for The King’s Fund Library Service. Hong-Anh joined the Fund in 2010 with more than ten years’ experience across different sectors, including higher education; services for children and young people; museums; and public libraries. She is a fully qualified librarian and graduated from the School of Information at the University of Sheffield in 2010 with a MA in Librarianship. In addition to her role at The King’s Fund, she is also the CPD Co-Lead for the Health Libraries Group.

Pip Divall
Lead of the International Clinical Librarian Conference (ICLC) organising committee, and Clinical Librarian Service Manager at University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust. Pip has spent her whole career to date in NHS libraries and her interest is primarily in systematic reviews and expert searching on behalf of clinical teams. She has been responsible for organising a number of Clinical Librarian study days alongside ICLC, and has a history of collaborating with other organisations (EAHIL, MLA) to run conferences.

Paul Cannon
Paul is a College Librarian at the University of Glasgow, where he provides strategic development and management of Library Services delivery for the College of Medical, Veterinary and Life Sciences. Paul Chairs the Animal Health Information Specialists UK & Ireland group, and has recently completed a doctorate, exploring construction of knowledge of information and digital literacy in university lecturers.

Isla Kuhn
Isla is co-chair of UHMLG and has been a medical librarian for over 20 years. Her current position is Head of Medical Library Services in University of Cambridge Medical Library.

Claire Blacklock
Claire is co-founder and trustee of African Hospital Libraries (AHL), a UK-registered charity working in Sierra Leone. AHL’s vision is to facilitate access to clear, relevant, up-to-date, lifesaving health information for all clinicians, regardless of geographical location, electricity supply or technology. AHL supports healthcare libraries in all four provinces of Sierra Leone. Claire is a medical doctor by background and is currently a DPhil student at the University of Oxford.

Deena Maggs
Head of Library Services at The King’s Fund. Deena oversees all library services that support the work of the Fund as well as the external library services available to anyone with an interest in health and social care policy. Before joining the Fund, she worked as an information service manager for an international law firm and prior to that she held library roles in academic institutions. Deena is currently the Chair of the Consortium of Independent Health Libraries in London (CHILL).

Professor Alison Brettle
Alison is currently Professor in Health Information and Evidence Based Practice; Director Centre for Social and Health Research at the University of Salford.

Lesley Allen
Lesley is currently co-chair of Health Libraries Group, and was previously co-cpd lead. She has worked in health libraries for over 30 years in various settings and has always had an interest in staff development and CPD. Lesley has worked as a mentor for colleagues in her workplaces as well as for CILIP and is glad to have the opportunity to work with colleagues on this exciting opportunity to bring ICML to Glasgow in 2026.

Lynsey Hawker
Lynsey has been co-chair of Health Libraries Group since October 2020 having previously served on the committee as co-cpd lead. A chartered librarian, she has worked in health libraries since 2005 and has experience of working in both Higher Education and the NHS. She has been a librarian at the King’s Fund since 2016.
